Bachelorette Parties

Although bachelorette parties haven’t gained as much notoriety as bachelor parties, they have been held for years in a variety of venues. Certainly, if the gents get to go out on the town for a night of single independence, so too, can the ladies. The idea behind such events is that once the happy couple settles down into a life of married bliss, they may never enter through the doorway of another bar or nightclub again, so they better get it in while the getting is good. Bachelorette Parties are the last hurrah, so to speak, for the soon-to-be-brides.

For practical reasons, don’t plan the party for the night before the wedding. Be sensitive to the bride’s needs and desires. If you know she will hate a night centered on the debauchery of male strippers and dancers, then plan something different for her. Forego the alcohol if it isn’t a staple for the group.

If a lot of the guests don’t know each other, think about the possibility of starting the party at a restaurant or someone’s home for dinner and a few moments to get to know each other. In fact, this icebreaker can actually heat up the night and get the ball rolling. Ask the guests to bring a gag gift for the bride and have a gift giving session early on in the event.

Plan games and activities to help keep the party rolling. Incorporate some of the party decorations or favors into your ideas. Visit local novelty stores for games and ideas. Whatever you do, plan ahead. Don’t wait until you arrive at the party to try and come up with some ideas. If you aren’t interested in some of the more raucous type of games for bachelorette parties, play charades. If the groom’s sister is present at the event, pit her against the bride in a game of twenty questions about the groom. Use your imagination and have fun.

Have the bride don a special costume or semblance of one- a veil decorated with colored condoms, a decorated vest, a t-shirt with a silly slogan on the front of it, or a hat with a half-naked man on it. Themed clothing for the invited guests can be fun too, since that way, no one will have any doubt as to who is in the group. It can be as simple as everyone wearing the same colors to everyone wearing a colorful boa, boots, or whatever.

Typically, the maid-or-honor and the bridesmaids plan the bachelorette party, taking into consideration the bride’s personal preferences for leisure and fun. Occasionally, the bachelorette party is simply a deviation from the normal weekend outing and takes a step out into the risqué and more adventurous type of bachelorette party venue. Popular locations for bachelorette parties include trendy bars, nightclubs, restaurants, and even banquet facilities. Some bachelorette parties have even been taken on a traveling circuit and gone from one location to another.

Party favors aren’t always a staple of the bachelorette party. However, when they are included, they can run the entire gamut from silly to purely sexual in nature. Party favors can include Mardi Gras beads in a wide variety of bright colors. These are popular with a crowd of any age. Party decorations for bachelorette parties also vary depending on the limitations of the location that is chosen for hosting the bachelorette party.

Planning kits are available to make this event easy and simple from start to finish. Many novelty stores and online sites advertise these kits along with a variety of other themed items. In fact, the home party circuit includes a number of lingerie themed events that also feature party favors, party games, and party decorations for bachelorette parties

In fact, special party services can be hired to plan and arrange unique bachelorette parties for a fee. Some of these agencies have special packages already in place for the bridesmaids to select from and others allow special customizable options to be included within their packages.
