2006 Spring Bridal Styles
Change is in the air! Designers are offering more styles to choose from and letting the brides-to-be express themselves. Next spring season will bring flourishing changes!
Accents on the wedding dress bloom in bright pastels. Brides should not fear colorful sashes, bows, flowers and other accents that deviate from the traditional all white dress. As the bridal dress colors bloom so will the fabrics. The fabrics to come next spring are all about texture. Long gone are the days of the tailored A line and smooth fabric. Texture is in! Lace is the fabric of choice for many designers as it creates a dramatic look while adding depth and texture. This fabric is incorporated into many of the silhouette styles and sheath looks. In dresses that have more fullness in the skirts texture has been created with layers. Tiered poufs in asymmetry bring about a less structured design while still having an elegant romantic soft appeal.
Next spring, brides will see more choices in the sleeves and necklines. The strapless and spaghetti strap dresses of the past brought an air of sexuality into the traditional wedding dresses, but not everyone can wear them. Instead, alternative modern re-designs reminiscent of the 1920’s and the 1950’s fashions will be seen. Tight bodices with full three quarters skirts and drop waists of the roaring 20’s will also be offered along with textured mermaid style outlines.
Since the emphasis is on texture this next spring you will see a diminished use of the tiara and textures will be incorporated into the bridal accessories such as veils, wraps, bouquets or fans.
Designers are offering several different looks in their collections this upcoming spring, offering more choices. Brides-to-be express yourself and reflect your style in your wedding dress!
